Yoshizumi Ishihara

Description
Yoshizumi Ishihara is a Japanese weather forecaster, television personality, and actor who has occasionally worked as a voice actor for anime and film. He was born on January 15, 1962, in Kanagawa, Japan. While his primary career is in live-action television and weather reporting, his voice acting credits include work in both feature films and television anime.

One of Ishihara's notable voice roles is Miage Nyūdō in the anime series Gegege no Kitarō. He also appeared in the 2006 animated feature film The Forest Gang, which marked one of his early forays into voice work.

After a gap of approximately 19 years, Ishihara returned to anime voice acting in 2025 with a guest role in the Doraemon New Year's Eve special. In the new original episode Space Western: Umatake in the Wilderness, he voiced Morgan, a villainous member of the Snake family who causes trouble on the planet UMA where Nobita and his friends arrive. During the recording session, Ishihara approached the work seriously, communicating closely with the director to understand the nuances of anime voice acting, a style different from his usual television appearances. Following the dubbing, he expressed that he found the experience enjoyable and felt he had gained insight into the world of Doraemon.

Ishihara's other voice credits include the 2007 live-action film adaptation of Gegege no Kitarō, in which he also appeared. Beyond voice acting, his on-screen acting work includes roles in films such as Kyōdan (1982), Adrift in Tokyo (2007), and the television series Seibu Keisatsu. He has also served as a regular weather forecaster on Fuji Television's FNN Super News programme.
