Based in Kōchi Prefecture, Amahara began creative activities in the mid-2000s, initially publishing works online and through a personal circle under the name Amahara Teikoku, which focused on adult-oriented doujinshi. The creator’s professional career expanded in the 2010s, with a transition to commercial serializations that often involve collaboration with other artists, where Amahara typically provides the story or original concept.

One of the most prominent works credited to Amahara is Interspecies Reviewers. The manga, illustrated by masha, began serialization in 2016 and follows adventurers who review brothels catering to various fantasy species. The series received a 12-episode anime adaptation that aired from January to March 2020, produced by studio Passione. A related anthology, Interspecies Reviewers Comic Anthology: Darkness, features contributions from various artists and is also credited to Amahara as the original creator.
