Daigo Kusano was a Japanese actor and voice actor born on September 7, 1939, in Taichung, Taiwan, and he passed away on February 27, 1991. He entered the literary arts through the Bungaku-za Training Institute in 1961, joining the theater troupe the following year and becoming a full member in 1966 before departing in 1967. Following his time with Bungaku-za, he became part of the June Theater group, which had been established by peers who had left the year before him.
While primarily active in theater, Kusano also maintained a substantial career in film and television. He was a frequent collaborator with directors Okamoto Kihachi and Shindo Kaneto, appearing in many of their movies, and his close friendship with actor Shintaro Katsu led to regular roles in Katsu Productions. His performance style was versatile, extending to radio dramas, narration, and even reader's theater.
In voice acting for animation and film, Kusano is known for several specific roles in the Lone Wolf and Cub series. He played the character Rokubee Kuchiki in Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades, which was released in 1972.
