She began her acting training at the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe, graduating from the interpretation program in 1990, and later pursued screenwriting at the Centre de formation professionnel L'inis from 2012 to 2013. Lhoumeau has been active as a comedic actress in Canadian cinema, with appearances in films such as Que Dieu bénisse l'Amérique, Continental, un film sans fusil, and Romaine par moins 30, and has been working in Quebec dubbing, narration, and voice replacement since 2001.

In the realm of voice acting, Lhoumeau is best known as the regular Quebec French voice for several prominent English-speaking actresses. She is the primary dubbing voice for Jennifer Connelly, providing the French Canadian voice for a wide range of Connelly's roles. These include Dahlia Williams in the 2005 horror film Dark Water (titled Eau trouble in Quebec) and Dr. Chiren in the 2019 cyberpunk action film Alita: Battle Angel (titled Alita: L'Ange conquérant). Her other notable dubbing work for Jennifer Connelly covers performances in Blood Diamond, Top Gun: Maverick, and Noah. Beyond Jennifer Connelly, Lhoumeau has established recurring dubbing collaborations with numerous other actresses.
