Deon Lotz is a South African actor whose work spans film, television, and theatre, and he has also performed voice roles for English dubs of anime productions. He is known to international audiences primarily for his work in live-action films, but his voice acting credits include roles in several notable anime series.
Lotz's career in voice acting for anime includes providing the English voice for the character Kazuyoshi Igarashi. He performs this role in the English dub of the anime series Tonbo!, which follows a young girl's discovery of golf on the Tokara Islands and is animated by OLM. In this series, Kazuyoshi Igarashi is voiced in Japanese by Hiroki Tōchi.
Another of his voice roles is that of Kozaburo Fujikura in the English dub of the anime series The Dinner Table Detective.
His connection to the anime world also extends to a live-action adaptation. Lotz plays the role of Detective Prinsloo in the 2014 South African action film Kite. This film is a live-action adaptation of the 1998 Japanese anime original video animation of the same name by Yasuomi Umetsu. The movie stars India Eisley, Callan McAuliffe, and Samuel L. Jackson, with Lotz appearing in a supporting role as a police detective.
