Yutaka Hirose

Description
Yutaka Hirose is a Japanese actor and voice actor born on August 4, 1962, in Tokyo. He began his career using his real name, Kazuhisa Hirose, and has also been credited as Takumi Hirose before changing his stage name to Yutaka in 1999. Before entering the entertainment industry, he was a gymnast in high school, a background that helped him pursue a path as an action actor. After graduating, he joined the Toei Action Club, where he began appearing in various guest roles.

In 1986, he auditioned for a hero role in the Super Sentai series Choushinsei Flashman but was instead cast as the villain Ley Wanda, a part that brought him significant popularity. He later auditioned for the lead role of Kotaro Minami in Kamen Rider Black, but the production team opted for a younger, unknown actor, giving him only a guest role. He subsequently played the villain Dr. Kempu in Choujuu Sentai Liveman, cementing his reputation as a popular actor for cool and distinctive antagonist roles.

Hirose became a favorite of writer Toshiki Inoue, who wrote specific roles for him in several tokusatsu productions, including Choujin Sentai Jetman, Gosei Sentai Dairanger, Choukou Senshi Changerion, and Kamen Rider Agito. In Kamen Rider Agito, he played the role of Naozumi Shirakawa, appearing in episodes 49 and 50. Admiring his former co-star Joji Nakata, who found success in voice acting, Hirose made his voice performance debut as the character Ryan, also known as the Universal Swordsman Lian, in the anime series Brave Command Dagwon. His additional voice work includes roles in video games such as Moonlight Syndrome and Longing Planet Planetocchio.

Beyond his on-screen and voice work, Hirose has also been involved in film production, serving as an action director for the movie Bakusou Trucker Gundan. After stepping back from acting, he focused on representing and managing a talent agency. He later worked as a drone pilot for an aerial filming company.
