George Cheung

Description
George Cheung is a Chinese-American actor and voice actor known for a career spanning from the mid-1970s across film, television, and animation. While primarily recognized for his extensive on-screen work in both Hollywood and Hong Kong cinema, he has also contributed to the field of English-language anime dubbing.

Cheung was born in Hong Kong on February 8, 1949, and earned a degree in biology from the University of San Francisco before pursuing a career in entertainment. His career path began in the mid-1970s, with his acting debut and his first work as a stuntman both occurring in 1975. Over the decades, he has built a reputation as a versatile supporting actor, frequently playing characters of various Asian ethnicities including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Mongolian.

In the realm of anime and animation, one of George Cheung's most notable voice roles is the character Pao in the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. He provided the voice for Pao in two episodes during the show's second season. Beyond that specific anime credit, his voice acting work extends to English dubs of Japanese anime. He is credited as the voice of the character Neville in the 1995 live-action film adaptation of the popular manga and anime series Fist of the North Star. Although this is a live-action film, it is directly based on an anime property and represents his connection to that world. He is sometimes credited for this role as George Kee Cheung.

His broader voice acting portfolio includes work on animated feature films and video games, such as providing additional voices for the 2007 animated film The Invincible Iron Man. His video game voice credits include roles in major titles such as Halo 2, The Matrix: Path of Neo, and the Uncharted series.

George Cheung has worked extensively as a stuntman and action performer, with credits including the miniseries War and Remembrance and the film Mars Attacks!. He has also taken on roles behind the camera, such as providing fight choreography for the television special Seibu Keisatsu. Cheung has received recognition for his contributions to the entertainment industry; in May 2008, he was presented with the Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Award for Excellence in Arts and Entertainment by the California Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus.
