Maki Carrousel, born Maki Hirahara on November 26, 1942, in Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan, is a Japanese actress, singer, and voice artist. She began her entertainment career in 1969 and has remained active since. A transgender woman, Carrousel completed her gender affirmation surgery in Morocco in 1973, becoming one of the first people in Japan to publicly disclose her gender reassignment. Her stage name is a tribute to a bar in Osaka where she once worked.

As a voice actor, Carrousel is known for the role of Shime in the 1979 anime series The Phoenix: Chapter of Dawn (also known as Hi no Tori 2772: The Phoenix). This animated science fiction film, directed by Taku Sugiyama and based on Osamu Tezuka's manga, features Carrousel in a voice role. Another notable voice credit is Marciano in the 1985 animated film Lupin III: The Legend of the Gold of Babylon. Her filmography also includes live-action roles in numerous Japanese television dramas and motion pictures spanning several decades, including the film Self-Defense Poem (Jigoku no Shi) in 2007 and the television series SPEC: Shō in 2012.

In 2024, Carrousel appeared in the film Voice playing a character named Maki. Her performance in this role earned her a historic achievement at the 79th Mainichi Film Awards, where she won the Best Supporting Performance award. This recognition was notable as the ceremony had merged its gendered acting categories into gender-neutral ones for the first time. Carrousel shared the award with actor Sosuke Ikematsu.
