Edward Choy Keng Choong

Description
Edward Choy Keng Choong is a Singaporean actor and voice artist recognized for his work in English-language dubs of Japanese anime series, particularly those produced for the Asian market. He holds a Master's degree in Theatre Studies from the National University of Singapore and worked briefly as a banker before committing to a full-time career in acting and voice-over. In addition to his performance work, he has lectured at the National University of Singapore, specializing in Performance Studies and Acting Theory, and has conducted corporate training.

Choy has an extensive voice-over portfolio that includes hundreds of radio and television advertisements, documentaries, and corporate videos. Within the field of anime, he is known for providing voices for several prominent characters in English dubs. He played the role of Shougo Fujimura, also known as Fuji-P, in the Singaporean English dub of the long-running magical girl series Pretty Cure. He also voiced the character Hikaru Kujou in the same production.

Another significant role is that of Tohma, one of the main protagonists in the fantasy mystery series Fantastic Children. Tohma is an energetic young boy living on Papen Island who becomes entangled in a centuries-old mystery involving a group of ageless, white-haired children.

His work in more dramatic series includes the role of Takumi Kusaka in Zipang. In this military drama about a modern Japanese Aegis destroyer that travels back in time to the Battle of Midway during World War II, Choy voiced the character of Lieutenant Kusaka, an Imperial Japanese Navy officer whose rescue by the crew of the Mirai sets off a chain of events that threatens to alter history.

Choy also voiced Karl Lichter von Randoll in the English dub of Future GPX Cyber Formula, a futuristic racing anime franchise. This dub, produced for the Asian market and recorded at Voiceovers Unlimited, debuted in 2006 on the Singaporean network Kids Central.

Across these projects, Choy has collaborated with several other English voice actors who frequently worked on dubs in Singapore, including Mark R. Kaufmann, Paul Pistore, and Joe Murray. His contributions to anime are part of a broader career in performance that spans stage, screen, and voice-over work, making him a prolific figure in Singapore's acting and dubbing industry.
