José Antonio Gavira Cortés is a Spanish journalist, television presenter, radio broadcaster, and voice actor known for his work in the Spanish dubbing industry. Born in Seville, Spain, on June 9, 1960, he holds a degree in Information Sciences with a specialization in Journalism from the Complutense University of Madrid and also trained as an actor at the Drama School of Seville. His professional career began in radio in 1980, and he has since worked extensively in print media, radio, and television as a news anchor, reporter, and program director across several major Spanish networks including Cadena SER, COPE, Canal Sur Televisión, Antena 3, and Radio Televisión de Castilla-La Mancha. Before and during his broadcasting career, he also performed in theatrical productions of various genres, particularly café-theater.

As a voice actor, José Antonio Gavira is most recognized for his work on the Spanish dub of the anime series Dragon Ball Z. He voiced the protagonist Son Goku, taking over the role from Adolfo Martínez. His tenure as Goku spanned more than one hundred television episodes, specifically from episode 56 or 59 through episode 167 of the series, as well as in most of the Dragon Ball Z feature films. In addition to Goku, he provided the voices for several other characters from the Dragon Ball universe, including Bardock, Raditz, Recoome, and the fused character Gogeta. This includes the role of Goku in the film Dragon Ball Z: Broly - Second Coming. His other voice acting credits include minor roles in films such as Principal sospechoso: Operación Nadine from 1993 and Una llama en el espacio from 1994.
