Toni Rodriguez, whose full name is María Antonieta Rodríguez Zárate, was a Mexican voice actress and dubbing director born on December 3, 1969, in Mexico City. She began her career in voice acting at the age of 20 while studying acting at the Academia de Sylvia Derbez. Her first major role was as Donna Martin in the Spanish-language dub of the television series Beverly Hills, 90210, a part she started recording when she was 19 years old. The director of that series, Eduardo Tejedo, taught her the craft of dubbing and integrated her into his team. Over a career spanning more than two decades, she became a well-recognized figure in the Latin American dubbing industry and also worked as a director on productions such as the Spanish-language version of the series Cold Case. Toni Rodriguez passed away on April 22, 2021, at the age of 51.

Rodriguez is best known for her role as Misato Katsuragi in the first Latin American Spanish dub of the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion, which aired on the Locomotion channel around the year 2000. Other significant anime roles include Kiyomi Takada in Death Note, Miyuki Mamiya in Suikoden Demon Century, Coach Hitomiko Kira in Inazuma Eleven, Rella in Cinderella Boy, and Señorita Uma in the series Shin Chan. Her voice acting work extended to feature films, where she voiced Nakoma in Pocahontas and provided the voice of Smurfette in the 2011 and 2013 live-action The Smurfs movies. She also had a prolific career dubbing characters in live-action television series, such as Libby Chessler in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. In the field of video games, her credits included voicing the characters Lux and Tristana in League of Legends, as well as Kitana and Mileena in Mortal Kombat 11.
