Yuriko Hishimi

Description
Yuriko Hishimi, born June 10, 1947 in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese performer whose primary career has been as a live-action actress, though she has also taken on select voice acting roles for anime and animated productions. She began her entertainment career after being selected as a semi-finalist in the Miss Tokyo contest sponsored by Toho, entering the company as a new actress and completing training at the Toho acting school before making her debut in the 1966 film "Punch Yarō". Hishimi is widely recognized for her live-action portrayal of Anne Yuri in the 1967 Ultra Series television show "Ultraseven," a role that has defined much of her public profile and led to numerous returns to the franchise in subsequent decades. Her work as a voice actor is limited compared to her extensive on-screen career, which includes appearances in tokusatsu productions such as "Mirrorman," "Ultraman Leo," and later entries in the Ultra series.

Within the field of voice acting, Hishimi is known for the role of the Narrator in the anime series "Hell Girl: Fourth Twilight," which aired in 2017 and represents a notable example of her work as a voice performer. Her other voice credits include the role of Yuri in the 2008 animated film "The Sky Crawlers," directed by Mamoru Oshii, and a role in the animated project "Gate Keepers" in 2000, as well as its sequel "Gate Keepers 21" in 2002. She also appeared as herself in the 2007 animated anthology series "Ani*Kuri15". Her later career has seen her reprise her famous live-action role as Anne Yuri in projects such as "Ultraseven X" in 2007 and the film "Superior 8 Ultra Brothers" in 2008, while continuing to accept voice work in anime productions. In the live-action tokusatsu series "Garo: Makai Senki" from 2011, she played the character Grace, further demonstrating the crossover between her on-screen and voice acting work.
