Melody Chubak
Description
Melody Chubak is a Japanese-Canadian vocalist known for providing singing voices for anime characters, most notably for the role of Heinz Nerich Windermere, also known as Heinz II, from the Macross Delta franchise. Her work has been featured in both the television series and the follow-up film, Macross Delta the Movie: Passionate Walküre. For these projects, she performed the character’s songs, including Aura Sala Hikaru Kaze, while the speaking voice was provided by voice actress Yuka Terasaki.
Born Melody Misa Chubak in Tokyo on January 29, 1997, she began her career in the entertainment industry at the age of four, working on commercial recordings, songs for English teaching materials, and narration. As a child, she was a regular cast member on the TBS children’s English program CatChat and starred as a TV Warrior on the NHK Educational program Tensei TV-kun from 2007 to 2009. Her early work also included singing commercial jingles for major brands and contributing to video game soundtracks.
Chubak’s entry into anime came prior to her work on Macross Delta. She performed the insert song again & again for the 2015 television anime series Plastic Memories. Her role in Macross Delta as the singing voice of the young Prince Heinz of the Windermere Kingdom remains her most prominent anime credit. The character is a Wind Singer whose songs have significant power over the Var Syndrome, a central element of the series plot. She later reprised this singing role for the compilation and re-imagining film Macross Delta the Movie: Passionate Walküre, released in 2018. Her career is characterized by her specialization as a vocal performer for animated characters, collaborating closely with voice actors who provide the character's dialogue.
