Alida Cappellini
Description
Alida Cappellini is an Italian voice actress, scenographer, and costume designer born in Rome on March 20, 1943. She is the sister of dubbing director Ornella Cappellini and actor and dialogue writer Rodolfo Cappellini. Her career as an actress began in 1950, and she later graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts as a scenographer and costume designer in 1965.
Within the field of animation voice acting, Cappellini provided the voice for Tatino in the series Tatino e Tatone and voiced Ding A Ling in Ugo Lupo. She also voiced the character of the Mother of Pierretta in the Italian dub of the educational animated series C'era una volta... l'uomo, known in English as Once Upon a Time... Man. In the first dubbing of that same series, she played the character Piera.
Beyond animation, her extensive voice acting work includes dubbing live-action films. She voiced Lambert, played by Veronica Cartwright, in the film Alien, Nora Brady in Barry Lyndon, Sharon Spencer in The Exorcist, and Allison Portchnik in Io e Annie. On television, she dubbed the role of Vera Louise Gorman for the Italian version of the American sitcom Alice and voiced Missy Ann Reynolds in the miniseries Roots. Her other dubbing credits include Piperita Patty in the Charlie Brown animated films and Lucy Van Pelt in Torna a casa Snoopy.
In addition to her voice work, Cappellini appeared on screen in the 1964 television drama Il giornalino di Gian Burrasca in the role of Ada Stoppani. She collaborated extensively with Giovanni Licheri, and together they designed the scenography for numerous Italian television programs, including Domenica In, Quelli che il calcio, and shows hosted by Pippo Baudo and Renzo Arbore. She also worked as a dialogue adapter for the animated series Team Galaxy and served as a dubbing director for telenovelas such as Vite rubate.
