Hal Studer was an American actor known for his voice work in early anime adaptations produced for English-speaking audiences. He was born on August 17, 1923, in Ohio, and passed away on October 24, 2011, in New York.
Studer is best remembered for his roles in the Japanese anime series The Flying House, which aired in 1981. Within this series, he provided the voices for two primary characters. He voiced Professor Humphrey Bumble, the eccentric inventor and owner of the titular time-traveling house, as well as S.I.R., a humanoid robot companion who often served as the voice of reason. He was also credited as providing the voice for the character Paul in the same series. In addition to his main roles, Studer voiced multiple supporting characters across the series, including John the Baptist, a masked man, various merchants, a Roman soldier, shepherds, a townsman, Uncle Enoch, and a wise man.
