Jamie Meldrum was an Australian voice actor and radio broadcaster known for his work in animation and commercial voiceovers across the Asia-Pacific region. Born in Gympie, Queensland, on October 14, 1969, he began his career in media at a young age, making his first on-air radio appearance at age four. He later graduated from the Australian Institute of Radio & Television in 1986 and spent years working as a radio personality in Australia, including as part of the duo The Budskis on Sea FM Gold Coast and a six-year stint at Triple M in Brisbane.
In 1998, Meldrum moved to Singapore, where he became the primary in-house voice talent for the Disney Channel, serving as the main image voice for Disney Channels in Asia and the Middle East for more than a decade. His voice work extended to numerous television commercials, radio campaigns, and animated productions. In the anime and animation field, one of his notable roles was providing the English voice for Georca in the series Fantastic Children. Georca is the younger brother of Titas, who schemes to seize the throne and use the princess Tina as a weapon. Meldrum also contributed to other animated projects requiring his vocal versatility, including roles in productions such as Master Raindrop and Tao Shu the Warrior Boy.
Beyond his anime and animation voice credits, Meldrum had a significant career as a radio executive. He joined Singapore Press Holdings Radio in 2006, becoming the Senior Program Director for stations Kiss 92 and ONE FM 91.3, and was instrumental in the launch of Kiss 92. He also co-hosted the top-rated breakfast show The Morning Express on Class 95 FM in Singapore. His achievements included a National Radio Award for Best Newcomers in 1992 for his work on Sea FM. Jamie Meldrum passed away in Singapore on August 14, 2020, at the age of 50.
