Lance Reddick was an American actor whose deep, commanding voice made him a memorable presence in animated series and video games. In the realm of anime and adult animation, he is known for bringing gravitas to a range of characters, including the role of the Captain in the Netflix series Castlevania.

Beyond Castlevania, Reddick's voice acting career included several significant roles in animated productions. He voiced Thordak the Cinder King, the leader of the destructive Chroma Conclave, in the second season of the Amazon Prime Video series The Legend of Vox Machina. His performance as the imposing dragon was highly praised and was considered a contender for a posthumous Emmy Award for character voice-over. His other animation credits include voicing the character Lunaris in the DuckTales reboot, Alan Rails in the Rick and Morty spin-off The Vindicators, and Ra's al Ghul in Beware the Batman.

One of his final voice roles was providing the voice of the iconic DC supervillain Lex Luthor in the animated series Kite Man: Hell Yeah!, a spin-off of Harley Quinn. Showrunner Dean Lorey noted that Reddick gave the character new depth and charisma, reinventing the role in a memorable way. The role marked his last small-screen performance, as he had completed recording for most of the series before his passing.

In the world of video games, Reddick was a prolific voice actor, most notably providing the voice and likeness for Commander Zavala in the long-running Destiny franchise. He also played Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, as well as Martin Hatch in Quantum Break. His work in animation and games consistently showcased his distinctive baritone voice, making him a sought-after talent in the industry until his death in 2023.
