Description
Peter Stormare is a Swedish actor, voice actor, theatre director, playwright, and musician who has built a notable career performing in both live-action and animated productions. He was born Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm on August 27, 1953, in Kumla, Närke, Sweden, and grew up in Arbrå, Hälsingland. He adopted the professional name Stormare early in his career. His formal training took place at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, where he was a company member for eleven years. In 1990, he took on a leading position as Associate Artistic Director at the Tokyo Globe Theatre, where he performed in several Shakespeare productions, including the role of Hamlet.

Stormare's voice acting work is extensive, spanning numerous animated television series, films, and video games. He is well known among animation fans for voicing the vampire Godbrand in the Netflix original animated series Castlevania. Described as a Viking vampire who serves as a general in Dracula's army, Godbrand is a character whose passion for hunting, killing, and chaos makes him a memorable antagonist in the series. Notably, the character's physical appearance was reportedly based on Stormare himself.

His other significant animated voice roles include playing Lord Dregg in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Prometheus Black also known as Meltdown in Transformers Animated, Dracula in the animated film The Batman vs. Dracula, Whiplash in Phineas and Ferb, Sir Slicer in Adventure Time, King Xarion in Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Rufus in Penn Zero Part-Time Hero, and Nickelwise in Animaniacs.

In the realm of video games, Stormare has brought his distinctive voice to several high-profile titles. He provided the voice and motion capture for Dr. Alan Hill in the interactive drama horror game Until Dawn. He is also known for voicing Arach Jalaal, the representative of the Dead Orbit faction, in the Destiny video game franchise. His other video game credits include Mattias Nilsson in the Mercenaries series, Isair in Icewind Dale 2, Johann Strauss in Quake 4, and Dr. Zelinsky in Command Conquer Red Alert 3.

Stormare's career background is rooted in classical theatre, which has informed his approach to character work across all media, including voice acting. While his live-action roles in films such as Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Prison Break, and Constantine have brought him international recognition, his deep and commanding vocal quality has made him a sought-after talent for animated projects that require menacing, eccentric, or authoritative characters.
