Sam Black is the professional stage name of Samuel Haft, an American voice actor, writer, and composer who performed English dub roles for several prominent anime series, primarily those produced in New York City. He began his voice acting career around 2017 and was active in the New York dubbing scene for a number of years before shifting his focus primarily to music. As a voice actor, he was known for portraying characters in the young to middle-aged adult range, often with a refined or sophisticated vocal quality.

Sam Black is perhaps best known for his work across multiple series in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. In Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, he voiced the character Kolter, also known as Koulter, who is the owner of a food truck and serves as a key ally to the protagonist Yusaku Fujiki. He also provided additional voices for the same series, including the housekeeping robot Roboppi and the SOL Technologies executive known as Knight. Before his role in VRAINS, he voiced Battle Beast and Mamoru Noro in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V. In the video game Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, he voiced the characters Handsome Stan and Wild Dan.

Beyond the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, Sam Black was a regular contributor to the English dub of the Pokémon animated series. Under the name Sam Black, he provided voices for Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon and Pokémon Journeys: The Series. His roles in the Pokémon universe included the character Marowak belonging to the trainer Kiawe, as well as Scyther, Tapu Bulu, and Horacio. He also had roles in the English dubs of other anime, such as Akudama Drive, Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, The Morose Mononokean II, and World War Blue. His video game voice work includes roles in Contra: Rogue Corps and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In his later career, Sam Black transitioned away from voice acting to focus on music. He moved from New York to California and became a prominent member of the musical group The Living Tombstone, contributing as a lyricist and composer. He has also composed music for the animated series Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel. He has occasionally worked with fellow voice actors from the New York dubbing circuit and the cast of Helluva Boss. Fans of Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS have noted that Sam Black actively engaged with the show's community on social media. He announced his role in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS on social media, where he initially referred to his character as Koulter before later correcting the spelling to Kolter.
