Kazuya Murakami is a former Japanese voice actor born on September 22 in Tokyo, Japan. He was inspired to pursue a career in voice acting after watching anime such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and Slayers during his childhood. His professional career began in the mid-2000s, with his first known voice role being in the game Shin Monster Management F in 2004. Over the years, he was affiliated with talent agencies including I'm Enterprise and, later, Carrot House.

Murakami is best known for his work in otome games and their anime adaptations. His most recognized role is Herlock Sholmès in the series Code:Realize -Guardian of Rebirth-. He also contributed to the Hakuoki series, voicing characters such as Teruhiro Tokugawa and Yoshio Tonouchi. His other notable anime and game credits include appearances in SHUFFLE!, as well as roles in the game series Wand of Fortune, Collar x Malice, S.Y.K: New Legend of the Saiyuki, BinaryStar, Yunohana SpRING!, Reine des Fleurs, and Memories Off #5. In May 2024, Murakami announced a hiatus from professional activities due to health reasons. He subsequently announced his official retirement from the voice acting industry on January 31, 2025, to focus on his recovery.
