Mizuki Yoshida

Description
Mizuki Yoshida is a Japanese actress known for her work in live-action television and film who made her anime voice acting debut in 2024. She is recognized for providing the voice of the character Kyomoto in the animated feature film Look Back, which is based on the acclaimed manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man.

The movie Look Back tells the coming-of-age story of two elementary school girls who bond over their shared passion for drawing manga. Yoshida voices Kyomoto, a reclusive truant whose exceptionally detailed artwork captures the attention of her more outgoing classmate, Fujino. The film was directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama, and the production was handled by Studio Durian.

Yoshida was cast in the role through an audition process. Director Kiyotaka Oshiyama explained his decision by noting that her voice had a specific quality of uncertainty and awkwardness that he felt was perfectly suited to Kyomoto's character. For her part, Yoshida has shared that upon first reading the original manga, she was shocked by the realism of its world. She has also recounted becoming visibly moved during the recording sessions, stating that she was brought to tears upon seeing the animated footage of the characters interacting. Her co-star in the film is Yumi Kawai, who voices the character Fujino. For both actresses, Look Back served as their introduction to the field of voice acting. During recordings, the two actresses performed their lines in sequence while in the recording booth, with Yoshida noting her co-star's skilled ability to respond to directorial instructions.
