Description
Marcello Trigo is a Brazilian voice actor, director, and voiceover artist born in São Paulo on September 6, 1978. He began his career in dubbing in 1999 at the Herbert Richers studio in Rio de Janeiro after studying under Waldyr Sant'Anna, and early in his career he used the stage name Marcello Gringo. Trigo is professionally recognized for providing the Brazilian Portuguese voice for numerous characters in anime series. His most notable role is Kan Sudo in the series FLCL Alternative from 2018. Additional major voice roles in anime include Tsubukade in Ranking of King from 2021, additional voices in Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage from 2023, and Saburo Sumitomo in Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth Arc from 2023 to 2024. Beyond anime, his voice work extends to video games, where he voiced Ace in Strife from 2015, provided additional voices in Outriders from 2021 and Diablo IV in 2023, and contributed as a voice director and casting director for the game Dolmen in 2022. As a director, Trigo supervised ADR for films and television series and directed voice performances for the first animated feature film from the state of Pernambuco, titled Além da Lenda, in which he also voiced the characters Boto and Sr. LH. He has worked as a voice director and dubbing supervisor specializing in Brazilian Portuguese localization, and he has recorded thousands of commercials for major international brands including Coca-Cola and the United Nations. In the field of original animation voice work, he voiced Maestro Muzzi in Musicália from 2023 and is slated to voice Udi in the upcoming production Uri e Udi. Trigo has also worked as an educator, founding a dubbing and voice workshop in Recife called O Artista de Voz, and he resides in Recife, having moved there in 2013.
