Alex Montiel is a Mexican voice actor, journalist, and digital content creator known for his work on anime and animated film dubs for the Latin American Spanish market. He was born on May 23, 1981, in Mexico City and is also widely recognized for his online persona, El Escorpión Dorado. Before pursuing voice acting, Montiel worked in television production for programs on Televisa and TV Azteca.

His professional preparation for a career in dubbing began in the year 2000, when he took his first voice acting course. He made his debut in the dubbing industry in 2015 with a role in a SpongeBob project. One of his early prominent roles in animation was providing the voice for Bebop in the 2016 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

Montiel is particularly known within the anime community for his role as Speck in the Netflix anime series Baki, which was released in December 2018. In this Spanish-language dub, he voiced the character Speck opposite actor Poncho Herrera, who voiced the title character Baki Hanma. He has also voiced other characters in the anime genre, including a role in a Bumblebee film project.

In addition to his anime work, Montiel has contributed to several major animated feature films. He voiced the character Fabulman in the animated film Scoob!, released in 2020. In 2022, he played the role of Ace the Bat-Hound in the Latin American Spanish dub of the Warner Bros. animated film DC League of Super-Pets. For this project, he was again cast alongside Alfonso Herrera, reprising their professional collaboration from the series Baki.

One of his later high-profile projects was providing a voice role in the 2023 film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. His casting, alongside other digital influencers, generated public discussion about the intersection of online personalities and professional dubbing. In response, Montiel stated that he had trained in voice acting since 2000 and that his participation in the film marked his eleventh project as a voice actor. Other roles in his filmography include Dropkick in Bumblebee and a mutant prison guard in Deadpool 2.
