Martin Billany, also known by his online pseudonym LittleKuriboh, is a British voice actor and writer born on February 3, 1983, in Knutsford, Cheshire, England, who currently resides in Burbank, California. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in online fan-produced content, credited as the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series in 2006, a parody dub of the popular anime that is considered the first of its kind and earned him the title father of abridging.

Billany’s entry into professional voice acting was inspired by a behind-the-scenes feature of Robin Williams in Patch Adams. After initially pursuing on-camera and theater work, he turned to voice acting as a teenager after watching the anime Descendants of Darkness. He received coaching from voice actor Liam O’Brien, which helped him navigate the industry, eventually landing his first professional role in a Full Metal Alchemist film. Beyond traditional voice work, Billany has also provided audio description for the blind for major films such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One.

His career in English-language anime dubbing includes a variety of supporting roles. He is known for voicing Herbert Von Reinhard in the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed franchise. He first voiced the character in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny and later reprised the role for the 2024 film Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM. According to statements on his social media, Billany had planned to retire from professional voice acting but came out of retirement specifically to play Herbert Von Reinhard in this film, citing his excitement at the prospect of his character dying in a Gundam as his final role.

Billany’s other notable anime roles include Sokabe in the Netflix series Ajin: Demi-Human. His additional dubbing credits include the role of an Ortho Brother in Hunter x Hunter (2011 series), Al in Emma - A Victorian Romance, and a Sushi Shop Manager in the K-ON! movie.

Outside of professional studio dubbing, Billany has maintained a strong presence in the online abridging community. He voiced the character Frieza and served as the narrator for Team Four Star’s Dragon Ball Z Abridged, as well as providing voices for various Naruto abridged series. He is married to fellow voice actress Marianne Miller, and the two have conducted joint interviews at anime conventions such as Anime North.
