Robert Baldwin was a Canadian-Japanese actor, voice actor, talent, and translator who worked extensively in Japanese film and television. He was born on September 27, 1965, in Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, to Canadian parents, and he passed away in 2024 at the age of 59 from colon cancer.

Baldwin entered the entertainment industry in the 1980s before transitioning to television in the 2000s, where he became a familiar face on Japanese variety programs and trivia shows such as Sanma no Super Karakuri TV and Miracle Experiences! Unbelievable. He also worked behind the scenes as a narrator, translator, and copywriter.

As a voice actor, Baldwin played the role of Robert in the anime series Doamayger-D. In this series, his character is an American sweets magnate who arrives in Kyoto with his own giant robot to compete with the protagonist's mecha in automated confectionery production. In addition to this role, he voiced the character Kevin in the anime Assassination Classroom. His anime voice credits also include work on The Sun's Apocalypse.

Beyond traditional animation, Baldwin was known for his roles in tokusatsu superhero productions. He appeared as Gold in Chousei Kantai Sazer X in 2005 and portrayed Ramirez, who transforms into Kyoryu Cyan, in the 2013 series Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, a role he reprised for the subsequent film Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: It's Here! Armed on Midsummer Festival!!. Regarding this role, he expressed interest in playing the same character in the Power Rangers adaptation.

His on-screen acting career included appearances in major film franchises such as Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla and Godzilla: Final Wars, as well as the drama Good Luck!!, the film Thermae Romae II, and a role as a regular or guest in series including Hotel, Boys Over Flowers, and Hotel Concierge. Baldwin also appeared in numerous commercials for major brands including Bandai, Suntory, and Adidas.
