Sabrina Duranti

Description
Sabrina Duranti is an Italian voice actress and dubbing director, born in Rome on December 2, 1967. Her passion for acting led her to train at the La Scaletta theater school in Rome before she began frequenting dubbing studios as a teenager to learn from established professionals in the field. This informal apprenticeship paved the way for a career in which she became a prominent figure in Italian dubbing.

Duranti's voice work spans a wide array of animated series and films, particularly for the Italian market. Among her notable anime roles are Tanuko in the series Nyani ga Nyandaa Nyandaa Kamen and Anna Marie in the OAV series Freedom. Her filmography includes a variety of other anime characters, such as Colette in Ashita no Nadja, Miki in Daa! Daa! Daa!, Lucemon in Digimon Frontier, Tally Onodera in Digimon Tamers, Purin in Excel Saga, Marl in Fairy Tail, Banri in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Biblis in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, Gin Yamamoto in Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, and Shogo Ushiyama in Paranoia Agent. She has also lent her voice to characters in major animated films, including Granmammare in Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, Yuko Ogino in a 2014 edition of Spirited Away, the Mother of Marnie in When Marnie Was There, Asako Tsukushima in Whisper of the Heart, and Nina Williams in Tekken: Blood Vengeance.

While highly active in animation, Duranti is equally renowned for her extensive work dubbing actresses in live-action films and television series. She is the regular Italian voice for actresses such as Sandra Oh, Vera Farmiga, Charlize Theron, and Linda Cardellini. Her most acclaimed roles include Cristina Yang in Grey's Anatomy and Rita Morgan in Dexter, characters for which she has received significant public recognition. In her approach to dubbing, she emphasizes the importance of serving the emotion of the character and allowing the actor's performance to remain primary, stating that doing the job well means "disappearing".

Beyond performance, Duranti also works as a dubbing director and dialogue adapter. She has directed the Italian dubbing for projects such as the anime film Lu over the wall and the series Marco Polo, for which she also co-curated the dialogues. Her son, Tommaso Di Giacomo, has also followed her into the profession as a voice actor.
