Lewis Arquette
Description
Lewis Arquette worked as a voice actor on several English-language dubs of prominent anime films and television series from the 1980s and 1990s. He is best known for his roles in the English dub of the anime series Sherlock Hound, which originally aired from 1984 to 1985. In this series, which reimagines the classic detective stories with an anthropomorphic animal cast, Arquette provided the voice for multiple characters. He voiced Dr. Watson, the loyal companion to the detective, as well as the characters of Todd and Inspector Lestrade.
In addition to his television work, Arquette contributed to the English dubs of several acclaimed anime films. He played the role of Doctor Onishi in the 1988 film Akira, one of the most influential works in anime history, where he was part of the Electric Media dub. He also had a role in Hayao Miyazaki's beloved film Kiki's Delivery Service, providing the voice for the Clock Keeper in the Buena Vista dub released in 1989, and contributed additional voices to Princess Mononoke in 1997. His other voice work from this period includes roles in the television series The Smurfs, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, and the animated film Tom and Jerry: The Movie.
