Mizuki Wai
Description
Mizuki Wai is a Japanese voice actress and stage actress born on July 26 in Hiroshima Prefecture. She is affiliated with the talent agency JTB Entertainment. In her youth, Wai was inspired to pursue a performance career after watching Megumi Hayashibara’s performance as Lina Inverse in the anime Slayers. She was active in theater throughout her school years and, after saving money through part-time jobs, moved to Tokyo to attend Nihon University College of Art, where she studied acting. She graduated at the top of her class and received the Nihon University College of Art Excellence Award.
Wai began her voice acting career by entering the Chain Chronicle Character Voice Audition for the mobile game Chain Chronicle in 2015. Competing against approximately two thousand entrants from both amateur and professional backgrounds, she won the prestigious Kishida Mel Award and made her debut as the character Matoi. She officially joined her current agency in April 2016. Wai is also an accomplished stage actress and has performed in various theatrical productions, including starring as Mirai Honma in a stage adaptation of the film Wall Street and playing the Nurse in a production of Romeo and Juliet.
Wai is best known for her first regular role in an anime television series, Chiaki Yokōchi in the romantic comedy First Love Monster. Beyond her anime work, she has a substantial portfolio in mobile and online games. She voiced characters such as Flamboy and Wendia in Monster Strike, as well as roles in Chain Chronicle, Knights Chronicle, and Crystal of Reunion. She also provided the voice for Nicole in the original net animation series The Laughing Under the Clouds. Her talent extends to narration and live event work, and she is the host or a personality for the WALLOP live streaming program Match vs. Mizuki: The One Who Wins Becomes an Enemy of Mankind. She has also made guest appearances on cultural broadcasting radio programs.
