Sarah Richardson
Description
Sarah Richardson is a Canadian voice artist and actress known for her work in English-language dubs of anime series and for live-action television roles. She is sometimes credited as Sarah Johns or Sarah j Price.
Richardson began her career as a teenager, performing as a lead vocalist in several musical groups including the Vancouver-based band Dr Strangelove, and studied at Capilano College's Music Diploma Program.
Her most prominent anime voice role is Grandis Granva in the series Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. Richardson voiced this character in the English dub produced by ADV Films for the television series, as well as in the English dub for the film Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water: The Motion Picture. In the original ADV DVD release interviews, Richardson explained that she initially auditioned for the role of Grandis using an Italian accent, which the production team felt sounded too stereotypical. The character's accent was subsequently changed to an English upper-class dialect for the final recording.
Other anime voice credits include Natarle Badgiruel and Juri Wu Nien in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, the Cafeteria Girl in Infinite Ryvius, and Calypso in Class of the Titans. She also voiced Angela Ramsey in the animated series Action Dad.
In addition to her voice work, Richardson has appeared in numerous live-action television series. Her credits include roles in Dead Like Me, Police Academy: The Series, Breaking News, Beggars and Choosers, and Madison. In 2020, she appeared as a guest in an episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. She also served as a narrator for documentary programs such as Model Killers and My Evil Sister, and played roles in The New Addams Family television series.
