Description
Martin Blacker is an English-language voice actor known primarily for his work on English dubs of anime films and television series during the 1990s. His career is closely associated with several prominent anime franchises from that era, particularly through dubbing work done for the North American market.

One of Blacker's most significant voice roles is Sanson in the anime series Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. He provided the English voice for Sanson, a member of the comedic trio led by the character Grandis, in multiple episodes of the 1990 television series. His performance in the role was later noted for its energetic delivery, with one review mentioning that the actor seemed to be enjoying himself with the part. Blacker also voiced the same character in the related film, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water: The Motion Picture.

Blacker is also well-known for voicing the lead character Joe Saeba, also known as Ryo Saeba, in the English dub of several entries in the City Hunter franchise. He took on the role of the titular private investigator in City Hunter:.357 Magnum (also known as City Hunter: Ai to shukumei no Magnum). He continued voicing the character in other films, including City Hunter: Bay City Wars, City Hunter: Million Dollar Conspiracy, City Hunter: Secret Service, and City Hunter: The Motion Picture. The character is portrayed as a skilled but eccentric marksman, and Blacker voiced the role across multiple productions.

In addition to his work on Nadia and City Hunter, Blacker contributed to other anime series. He voiced the character Onigawara in the English version of Steam Detectives, a 1998 anime series based on the manga by Kia Asamiya. His filmography also includes a role in the 1997 anime film Rurôni Kenshin: Ishin shishi e no Requiem, where he voiced the character Jin'e Udou in the English version.

Blacker's voice acting work appears to have been concentrated in a specific period of anime localization, with most of his known credits occurring on productions released in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. His roles often involved significant or lead characters in action and adventure anime, establishing him as a familiar presence in the English dubs of that era.
