Lou Perryman was an American character actor who also performed voice work for English-language dubs of Japanese anime. He was born on August 15, 1941, in Gainesville, Texas, and began his involvement in the film business in 1961 while on leave from the United States Army. His career behind the camera included work as a cinematographer, sound man, and production manager in Texas throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, including as a sports cinematographer for NCAA and ABC Television. As an actor, he was known for his distinctive Texas drawl and appeared in numerous live-action films, including The Blues Brothers (1980), Poltergeist (1982), Last Night at the Alamo (1984), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 (1986), and Boys Don't Cry (1999). He also acted on stage in productions such as The Time of Your Life, Fool for Love, and The Night Hank Williams Died, and he co-wrote the play In the West.
