Marie Van R., whose full name is Marie Van Ermengem, is a Belgian voice actress and dubbing director born on May 17, 1972 in Leuven, Belgium. She studied at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion (IAD) in Belgium before beginning her voice acting career in 1996. Van R. initially provided voices for young female characters but soon developed a recognized specialty in voicing young boys, a versatility that became a hallmark of her work. In addition to her on-screen voice work, she has worked extensively as an artistic director for dubbing projects for over fifteen years.

Her career in voice acting spans numerous major anime series, with her most defining role being that of Tony Tony Chopper in the French adaptation of One Piece. She was chosen for the part in 2008 and has voiced the character consistently since then across the main television series, numerous films including One Piece Film Red, and various specials. The actress has expressed a deep personal attachment to Chopper, appreciating the character's gentle nature and courage.
