Marcello Prando was an Italian actor and voice actor born in Rome on November 22, 1931. He passed away in his hometown on July 6, 2005. His career in performance included work on stage, where for eleven years he was a member of the Compagnia Stabile del Teatro di Roma, a theater company directed by his father-in-law, Checco Durante. This troupe was known for its Roman comedies, many of which were recorded for television by RAI. Beyond acting, Prando also worked extensively as a dubbing director and dubbing assistant.

Prando is best known to animation fans for providing the Italian voice of Inspector Koichi Zenigata in the series The New Adventures of Lupin III, known as Lupin III: Part II. He did not only voice the persistent inspector but also served as the dubbing director for the Italian adaptation of the show. This dual role was a significant contribution to bringing the Lupin III series to Italian audiences. His voice work for this character is documented across numerous episodes.

His other major voice roles cover a wide range of classic animated series from the era. He voiced Lurch in the Italian dub of The Addams Family. In the world of anime, he was the voice of Sally the Witch's father in the first Mahōtsukai Sally series. He voiced Beastman and Mer-Man in the first season of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. His other anime roles included Ataru's father and Ryunosuke's father in Urusei Yatsura, Drago in Koguma no Misha, Inspector Osuke in Shin Tetsujin 28, and a role in Tekkaman, the Space Knight. In animated films, he voiced General Crocerus in Asterix and the Magic Potion and Beastman in The Secret of the Sword.

His work was not limited to cartoons. Prando dubbed live-action roles for television series and films. Notably, he provided the Italian voice for Lurch, played by Ted Cassidy, in the live-action The Addams Family television series. He also dubbed actors including Paul Sorvino, Marc Lawrence, and Renato Salvatori in various films. His contributions to the dubbing industry extended to his family, as his son Francesco Prando also became a well-known actor and voice actor.
