Roberto Del Giudice was an Italian actor and voice actor known primarily for his extensive work in dubbing foreign films and television series for the Italian market. Born in Milan on 25 September 1940, he studied at the Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts and began his career in the 1960s, working in radio, theater, and television in minor roles before finding success as a voice dubber. He died in Rome on 25 November 2007 after a long illness.
Del Giudice is best remembered as the definitive Italian voice of the gentleman thief Arsène Lupin III in the Lupin III anime series. He first voiced the character starting in 1979 and continued in the role for nearly three decades until 2007, holding the record for having voiced Lupin III longer than any other actor in any language. His tenure as Lupin encompassed the television series Lupin III: Part II, multiple television specials, and various films, including the 2007 redub of The Castle of Cagliostro, which was one of his final works.
Beyond his signature role in anime, Del Giudice had a prolific career dubbing a wide array of animated characters. He provided the Italian voice for Miss Piggy in numerous Muppets productions, including The Muppet Show and several films. For Disney, he was the voice of the hornbill Zazu in The Lion King and its sequels. Other notable animated roles included Benny the Cab in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Death in the early seasons of Family Guy, Snowbell in the later Stuart Little films, Neelix in Star Trek: Voyager, and Frodo Baggins in the animated film The Lord of the Rings.
