Robin Robertson is an American actor and voice actor known primarily for his work in anime dubs during the 1990s. Born on August 29, 1957 in the United States, Robertson has maintained a career in theatre, film, and television spanning several decades.
Robertson began performing as an actor and singer at the age of twelve. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1981, after which he worked continuously in the entertainment industry.
As a voice actor, Robertson is best recognized for his role as the titular character in the English dub of the 1987 original video animation Lupin III: The Fuma Conspiracy. For this production, released by AnimEigo in 1995, the character was renamed Rupan III in the English version, with Robertson providing the voice for Arsène Lupin III. This film was unique within the Lupin III franchise as it was the only entry that did not feature the regular Japanese voice cast due to budget concerns, which led to an entirely new cast for both the Japanese and English versions.
Beyond his most famous role, Robertson's anime voice acting credits include playing Dr. Asahino in Earthian and providing a variety of voices in Crusher Joe. He also contributed additional voices to the English versions of Blue Submarine No. 6 and Youre Under Arrest: The Movie.
