Ayako Yoshitani

Description
Ayako Yoshitani is a Japanese actress and voice actor born on September 26, 1991, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. While primarily known as a live-action film and television actress, her most significant and widely recognized voice acting role is the character Mikoto Urabe from the 2012 anime series Nazo no Kanojo X, also known as Mysterious Girlfriend X.

Yoshitani began her career as a child actress at the age of four, making her debut in a television series in 1996. For approximately fifteen years, she worked extensively in live-action productions before transitioning to voice work for animation. Her debut as a voice actor came in 2012 when she was cast as the enigmatic heroine Mikoto Urabe. According to reports, the director of the anime, Ayumu Watanabe, chose Yoshitani for the role after auditions, believing her natural voice would bring a sense of realism to the character. In an interview, Yoshitani explained her approach to the role, stating that she tried to keep her voice natural rather than adopting a typical anime voice style.

Beyond her voice performance, Yoshitani also performed the series opening theme song Love Orchestra and the ending theme song After-School Promise for Mysterious Girlfriend X. Her work on this series remains her sole major anime voice role, and she has not been widely credited in other animated television series or films. Her filmography is otherwise dominated by live-action movies and television dramas, including films such as Gantz and its sequel Gantz: Perfect Answer, as well as the television series Rikuoh and La Grande Maison Tokyo.
