Jennifer Hale is a highly respected Canadian-American voice actress whose career spans animation, video games, and anime dubbing. She began her voice acting career in the early 1990s, with one of her first major animation roles being Ivy on the series Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? in 1994. A graduate of Birmingham-Southern College with a business degree, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Her early work quickly established her as a prolific talent in the industry.

Hale has an extensive list of voice roles in animation that have been inspired by or directly adapted from Japanese anime. She is well-known to fans of the series Avatar: The Last Airbender for voicing the formidable and stoic Avatar Kyoshi, a past incarnation of the titular character. She also portrayed the bounty hunter June in the same series. She reprised the role of Kyoshi in the sequel series, The Legend of Korra. In the anime-inspired French-produced series Totally Spies!, Hale provided the voice of the lead character Samantha "Sam" Simpson and the recurring rival Mandy.

In the realm of English dubbing of Japanese anime films and series, Hale has several notable credits. She played the role of Electra Ovirowa in the English dub of the animated feature film Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. Her work also includes the role of Sheena Fujibayashi in the English version of the video game Tales of Symphonia, which is part of the Japanese Tales series known for its anime presentation.
