Wolfgang Häntsch is a German actor, voice actor, and audio play narrator, born on June 7, 1951 in Seifhennersdorf, Germany. He graduated from the Theaterhochschule Leipzig in 1975 and worked extensively on stage in cities including Eisenach, Stralsund, Schwedt, Halle, and Schwerin. After leaving the former East Germany in the late 1980s, he performed at major venues such as the Schillertheater Berlin, the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg, and the Renaissance-Theater Berlin. His live-action television career includes guest roles on German series like Polizeiruf 110, Tatort, SOKO Leipzig, In aller Freundschaft, and Der Alte, as well as parts in films such as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex.

Within German-language anime dubbing, Häntsch is known primarily for his supporting roles. He provided the German voice for Jintetsu Murata in the 2010 film Gintama: The Movie. His other anime roles include Dona Dona in the television series Demon Lord, Retry! (2019), Clemenza and Mr. Brooks in Garo: Vanishing Line (2017 to 2018), and Choumei in Naruto Shippuden. In the film The Seven Deadly Sins: Prisoners of the Sky (2018), he voiced the character Atra in the Netflix German dub.

Beyond anime, his extensive voice acting career covers numerous films and series, providing German dubbing for actors such as Robert Davi, Jackie Shroff, and Ed Lauter. He is also an established voice in video games, having voiced Gandalf in Der Herr der Ringe: Gollum, alongside roles in Final Fantasy XVI, Atomic Heart, and Mass Effect: Andromeda. His work in audio dramas includes speaking roles in popular German series like Die drei??? and John Sinclair.

Häntsch was the founder of the Epopée de l’Europe e. V., an organization focused on cultural exchange with Eastern Europe, and has worked with refugee children in Hamburg as a certified language and cultural mediator.
