Mugihito, also known by his stage name Mugihito Amachi, is a veteran Japanese voice actor and stage actor. He was born Makoto Terada on August 8, 1944, in Musashino, Tokyo. The name Mugihito is a stage name, and he was also formerly credited under his birth name as well as the variant Mugihito Amachi. He comes from a family of performers, as the son of kabuki actor Yoshizaburo Arashi V and the younger brother of voice actress Michie Terada. His career began in the 1960s, initially working as a stage and television actor before dedicating himself primarily to voice acting and narration from the 1980s onward.

Over his long and prolific career, Mugihito has portrayed a wide range of characters, often lending his distinctive voice to older authority figures, villains, and mentors. One of his most iconic roles is Keel Lorenz, the inscrutable leader of the secret organization SEELE in the landmark series Neon Genesis Evangelion, a role he has also reprised in several of the franchise's films. In a different register, he provides the voice of Kaseki, the enthusiastic and skilled elderly craftsman in the popular series Dr. Stone. He has also had an extensive career in dubbing foreign films and television series into Japanese, most famously as the regular Japanese voice for actor Patrick Stewart, taking over the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Mugihito has also worked in the tokusatsu genre, providing voice for characters in series such as Shuriken Sentai Ninninger.
