Asumi Nakada is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and former child model known for her work in mid-2000s anime. She was born on April 5, 1988, in Tokyo, Japan. Her height is recorded as 173cm, approximately 5 feet and 8 inches tall. Over the course of her career, she has been affiliated with several talent agencies, including Crayon, Five Eight, Switch 58, and later Oscar Promotion. The spelling of her family name has sometimes varied; early in her career she was referred to as Asumi Nakada, but she later used the name Asumi Nakata.

Nakada began working in show business at the age of three, often appearing alongside her younger sister. At nine years old in 1997, she debuted as a singer as part of the duo Crybaby on the Pony Canyon label, performing with fellow artist Ayano Shiraishi under the production of Seiji Toda.

Her first and most prominent voice acting role came in April 2003 when she was cast as the lead character Lucia Nanami in the anime series Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch. She continued this role in the subsequent series, Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure, which concluded in December 2004. This performance remains her signature credit in the voice acting industry. In addition to her television work, she also provided the voice for the same character in several video games based on the franchise, including titles such as Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch and Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch: Pichi Pichi Live Start.

Following the success of Mermaid Melody, Nakada took on the role of Yusura in the anime series Himawari!, which began broadcasting in April 2006, and its sequel Himawari Too!!. Beyond voice acting, she appeared as a guest at the Sixth Manga Fair in Taiwan on August 14, 2005, where she performed the theme song Legend of Mermaid. Her other credits include a role in the film Swan's Song from 2002.
