Sōichirō Tanaka is a Japanese voice actor born on December 23, 1964, in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. He is affiliated with the voice acting company Office Osawa. Tanaka is recognized for his work in anime and tokusatsu productions, with one of his most prominent roles being Sam Speed, the leader of the S Team, in the anime series Sonic X. He also voiced the character Takuan Sōhō (credited as Priest Takuan) in the series Musashi Gundoh.

Beyond these roles, Tanaka has built a diverse career with a range of other notable voice credits. His anime work includes roles in Rockman EXE, where he voiced Shuuseki Ijuin, CosmoMan, and FreezeMan, as well as Rave Master, where he voiced Belial, La Grace, and Tanchimo. His other television anime appearances include Devil Lady as Tawada, Heat Guy J as Gena, Glass Fleet as John Fall, Daphne in the Brilliant Blue as Shibasaki Run, Cyborg. Gamo Whisky, Samurai Deeper Kyo as Haira, and Saiyuki as Ryokusho. He also provided the narration for the series 100% Pascal-sensei and voiced Uncle in Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat. In addition to Japanese anime, he performed the Japanese dub voice for Big Dog in the series 2 Stupid Dogs.

In the tokusatsu genre, which refers to Japanese live-action special effects productions, Tanaka provided the episode one narration for Chouseishin Gransazer and played the role of Karakazlian Sanoa in episodes thirty two and thirty three of Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger. His role as Sam Speed remains a frequently noted performance in his career.
