Kenji Taguchi

Description
Kenji Taguchi is a Japanese manga artist known for creating series that often center on the dynamics between brothers and sisters, particularly those with a brother complex. Born in January 1983, Taguchi began his professional career as a freelance DTP designer before turning his focus to manga. He made his debut in the mid-2000s, with his first notable recognition coming in 2004 when his work Patchwork Face received an honorable mention in the Manga College awards. In 2009, he achieved a significant breakthrough by winning the first Club Sunday Rookie King award, which led to the serialization of his first major work, DCD, starting in November of that year.

Taguchi is credited as the original creator behind the anime Ane Log and My One-Hit Kill Sister. For Ane Log, he wrote and illustrated the original manga, which follows high school student Moyako Konoe and her younger brother Akira. Believing her brother has developed perverse tendencies, Moyako's imagination runs wild in a series of comedic and delusional monologues. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 2012 to 2016. An anime adaptation, Ane Log: Moyako Nee-san no Tomaranai Monologue, was produced as a series of short episodes and flash animation OVAs released in 2014.

Taguchi is also the artist for the manga adaptation of My One-Hit Kill Sister, a series based on a web novel written by Konoe. The story follows Asahi Ikusaba, who is transported to a fantasy world only to find he has no special abilities, and his older sister Maya, who follows him and possesses overwhelming cheat-level powers. The manga began serialization on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry website and in Monthly Sunday Gene-X on March 6, 2020. It concluded on July 28, 2023, and was collected into twelve tankobon volumes. An anime television series adaptation aired from April to June 2023, with Taguchi credited as the original creator for the manga.

His other notable works include JK, Shachiku o Kau and Obutsu wa Shōdoku Desu. Across his career, Taguchi has demonstrated a consistent artistic identity, frequently portraying female characters with strong brother complexes and showcasing an affinity for drawing well-endowed characters. This thematic preference has become a recognizable hallmark of his work.
