Kana Marutsuka is a Japanese voice actress known for her work in television animation, video games, and foreign drama dubbing. She is affiliated with the talent agency JTB Entertainment.

Kana Marutsuka was born in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. Her fascination with voice acting began in elementary school after watching reruns of the classic anime series Ranma 1/2, which led her to research how anime was made. A pivotal moment came when she watched Mobile Suit Gundam SEED; she was deeply moved by the vocal performances to the point of tears, which solidified her ambition to pursue a career in the industry. She particularly admired voice actresses Houko Kuwashima and Rie Tanaka for their ability to portray multiple distinct characters within the same series. To achieve her goal, Marutsuka enrolled in the Voice Actor Department at Osaka Animation College, specializing in anime voice acting.

She made her debut in the anime industry in 2011 with a minor role as a restaurant customer in the surreal series Mawaru Penguindrum. The following year, in 2012, she voiced the character Yasabito in the short-form anime series Shiba Inuko-san, a show about a middle school girl who is inexplicably a Shiba Inu. This was followed by a steady stream of supporting roles in various television series. In the 2014 series The Comic Artist and His Assistants, she voiced a sound effects announcer, and in Sunday Without God, she played a classmate. The same year, she appeared in the romantic drama One Week Friends and the comedy Engaged to the Unidentified.

Marutsuka’s breakout role came in 2016 when she was cast as Ryoko Kunigawa in the romantic comedy series This Art Club Has a Problem!. In the same year, she took on roles in the motorcycle-themed anime Bakuon!! as Akina Nonaka and the military drama Schwarzesmarken as Marie Heisenberg. Her other anime credits include appearances in Love, Election & Chocolate, Unbreakable Machine-Doll, and The [email protected] Cinderella Girls, often voicing background characters and students.

Beyond television animation, Marutsuka has an extensive portfolio in video games. She is known for voicing Hana Yamada in the popular mobile social game Girlfriend (Kari) starting in 2013. She has also contributed to the English dub of foreign media, including film and television series. Her live performance work includes appearing as a stage actress in productions such as Henry VI, Part III and singing at anime song festivals. She has also worked as an event emcee.
