Caro Schwarzmeier
Description
Caroline Schwarzmaier is a German voice actress known for her work in dubbing foreign-language films and television series into German. She was born on March 3, 1988, and is the daughter of actor Michael Schwarzmaier. Schwarzmaier began her career in dubbing as a child, discovered for the work at the age of seven. Her early roles include providing the German voice for Princess Dot in the 1999 film A Bug's Life (titled Das große Krabbeln in German), a role performed in the original English version by Hayden Panettiere. She later made an appearance as a guest on the Harald Schmidt Show as a result of this early work.
In the realm of anime, Schwarzmaier is best known for her role as Rin in the German dubbing of the InuYasha franchise. She provided Rin's voice for the majority of the original television series, specifically for episodes 53 through 104. Her work on the series also extended to the first four animated feature films. These include InuYasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time, InuYasha the Movie: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass, InuYasha the Movie: Swords of an Honorable Ruler, and InuYasha the Movie: Fire on the Mystic Island. In these films, she voiced the character of Rin, originally performed in Japanese by Mamiko Noto.
Her filmography includes several other dubbing projects. In live-action films, she voiced roles such as Little Miss in The 200-Year-Old Man (1999), Brandi in The Racer (2003), Amy Pearl in The Perfect Man (2005), and Betsy in Prom (2011). She also performed voice work for the television series The Bold and the Beautiful, providing the German voice for the character Bridget Forrester in two different stints.
A notable aspect of Schwarzmaier's career is a family connection to her work. Her sister, Katharina Schwarzmaier, is also a voice actress. When the German dubbing for the InuYasha anime series resumed to cover episodes 105 through 193, Caroline Schwarzmaier did not reprise her role as Rin. For these later episodes, the role was instead taken over by her sister, Katharina Schwarzmaier. Her brother, Tim Schwarzmaier, has also worked as a voice actor.
