Within the realm of anime, Golding is known for his work on the English dub of the 2014 Japanese animated series Ronja the Robber's Daughter, an adaptation of Astrid Lindgren's classic children's book. Beyond his anime role, Golding has an extensive career in voice work for other animated productions. His credits include voicing Stephen the Vintage Engine, Sidney the Steam Engine, and Baz in the long-running series Thomas & Friends. He has also performed as the title character in Mike the Knight for CBeebies, the lead role in CITV's Fleabag Monkeyface, and as PC Plod in Noddy in Toyland. His voice has been featured in numerous other programmes, including The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio series, Dennis and Gnasher, and Numberjacks.

In addition to his voice work for television, Golding has a significant career on stage. He is best known for his one-man play Morecambe, in which he portrays the legendary British comedian Eric Morecambe. The play was a critical and commercial success, winning a Fringe First Award at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It subsequently earned a nomination for Best Actor and won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 2010.
