Melina Borcherding

Melina Borcherding, also known professionally as Oska Melina Borcherding, is a German voice actor, actor, and dancer born in Munich on November 11, 1993. They are recognized in the German anime community for providing the voice of the young witch Kiki in the 2005 German synchronization of the Studio Ghibli film Kiki's Delivery Service. The film, originally released in Japan in 1989, follows the journey of a 13-year-old witch who starts a flying courier service in a new city. Borcherding's performance as the lead character is consistently listed among the main voice cast for this release.

Beyond this prominent role, Borcherding has contributed to the German dubbing of several other notable anime and animated projects. They voiced the character Hilda in the long-running Pokémon series. Further anime credits include the role of Tsuneko Tani in the 2006 German synchronization of the Isao Takahata film Only Yesterday (originally released in 1991). In the series My-HiME, Borcherding voiced the character Yayoi Oota.

Borcherding's voice acting work also extends to non-anime productions. Early in their career, they dubbed the voice of Megan Parker for the German version of the live-action Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh, a role they performed for several years. Additional dubbing credits include roles in the series Zoey 101 and Unsere kleine Farm (Little House on the Prairie).

Alongside their voice work, Borcherding has built a concurrent career as an on-screen performer and stage actor. They studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover from 2012 to 2016. Since 2019, Borcherding has held the recurring role of Marlene Weber on the German ARD television series WaPo Berlin. Their other television credits include appearances on SOKO Leipzig and SOKO Wismar. Borcherding has also worked extensively in theater, including a period at the Theater an der Parkaue in Berlin.
