Ayako Uemura is a Japanese voice actress born on February 7, 1986, in Saitama Prefecture. Standing 148 cm tall, she is affiliated with the agency Quatre Stella. Her career began not in voice acting but as an idol, as she was a second-generation member of the popular group AKB48 as part of Team K. She debuted with the group in April 2006 but left just two months later in June to pursue her original dream of becoming a voice actress.

Following her departure from AKB48, Uemura enrolled in a training school to restart her voice acting career, officially re-debuting in 2007. She worked as a radio personality for the show "Uemura Ayako no Chou Radio! Rookie" and has been affiliated with several agencies over the years, including Genki Project and Office Watanabe, before moving to her current agency.

Uemura is recognized for her role as Ai Kinoshita in the 2013 anime series Flowers of Evil. This remains one of her most prominent lead roles. Her other anime television credits include a variety of supporting characters across numerous series. She voiced Mary and other roles in the 2017 series ēlDLIVE, and played North Minami in the 2018 series Slave District The Animation. Her earlier work includes minor roles in popular shows such as Maid Sama!, Bakuman., and Phi Brain: Puzzle of God. In addition to television, she has voiced characters in video games, such as Donari Fischer in Absolute Hero Modding Plan and Otome Sakuraba in Otome Break!.
