Taichi Kawazoe

Description
Taichi Kawazoe is a Japanese manga artist best known as the creator of the erotic comedy series Futoku no Guild, also known as Immoral Guild. Kawazoe is the original writer and illustrator of the manga, which has been serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine since its debut on June 12, 2017. The series marks Kawazoe’s third serialized work and is characterized by its blend of slapstick comedy, fantasy role-playing game tropes, and provocative content.

The Immoral Guild manga is published under Square Enix’s Gangan Comics imprint, and as of March 2025, its chapters have been compiled into fifteen tankobon volumes. An English digital version of the manga is available through Square Enix’s Manga Up! service.

Kawazoe’s creation gained wider recognition with a twelve-episode anime television adaptation produced by the studio TNK. The series, directed by Takuya Asaoka, aired from October to December 2022, with a broadcast on AT-X and other networks. This adaptation brought the characters and comedic scenarios of Kawazoe’s original work to a broader audience.

The narrative of Immoral Guild follows Kikuru Madan, a skilled hunter who wishes to retire to enjoy his youth but is instead tasked with training a group of promising yet hopelessly incompetent new recruits. A defining element of Kawazoe’s work is the recurring plot device where female characters’ magical energy inadvertently attracts monsters, leading to frequent and elaborate comedic situations. While the series is primarily known for its ecchi comedy, it also features moments of genuine character development and more serious combat arcs, demonstrating a range of storytelling within the fantasy genre.
