Marize Motta

Marize Motta is a Brazilian voice actress known for her work in anime dubbing. Born in Rio de Janeiro on December 24, 1952, she has built a career voicing a wide range of characters across various animated series and films. Motta is recognized for lending her voice to older, matriarchal, or wise female characters in numerous popular anime titles.

One of her prominent roles is Shi Won Kim in the anime series Great Pretender. She also voiced the character Yoshie in a Netflix dub of the Studio Ghibli film Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. Her other significant voice credits in anime include Sister Theresa Rapual in Black Clover, Gran Grandma in BNA: Brand New Animal, Valerie in Carole & Tuesday, the Turbo Granny in Dan Da Dan, and Kakeru's grandmother in Orange. Her work extends to other international animation as well, such as providing the Brazilian Portuguese voice for the character Olwin in the children's series Chuggington.
