Roberto de Groot is a Dutch voice actor, singer, and stage performer known primarily for his work in the Dutch-language dubbing of animated series and films. He was born on October 2, 1965, in Aruba.

De Groot has had an extensive career as a stage and musical theater actor, performing in major productions including Cats, Evita as Juan Perón, Sweeney Todd as Judge Turpin, The Little Mermaid as King Triton, and The Jungle Book as Shere Khan and later Bagheera. His experience in musical theater has contributed to his vocal versatility as a performer.

In the field of voice acting, De Groot is best recognized for his role as Maximillion Pegasus, the eccentric creator of Duel Monsters and primary antagonist of the first story arc, in the Dutch version of the anime series Yu-Gi-Oh!. He also voiced the character Pegasus in the film Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie. This remains his most prominent anime voice role.

Beyond Yu-Gi-Oh!, De Groot has voiced characters in several other animated productions. His additional dubbing roles include Thor in the animated series Avengers Assemble, Daddo Hugglemonster in Kenny Hugglemonster, Mr. Tod in Peter Rabbit, Cal Zone in New Looney Tunes, and Jasper in the animated film Storks. He also performed the voice of Bear in the Dutch dub of the children's program Bear in the Big Blue House.

De Groot has contributed to other notable anime franchises as well, including the Dutch version of Pokémon. His live-action dubbing work includes providing Dutch voices for Geno Segers on Pair of Kings, George Harris in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Cornell John in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

De Groot has also appeared as an actor in Dutch television, including the soap opera Onderweg naar Morgen playing two different doctor roles. His career reflects a steady commitment to voice work for children's entertainment alongside his ongoing work in musical theater.
